Acerca de esta escucha

Listeners around the world have thrilled to Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy, and Killing Jesus - riveting works of nonfiction that journey into the heart of the most famous murders in history. Now, from Bill O'Reilly, anchor of The O'Reilly Factor, comes the most epic book of all in this multimillion-selling series: Killing Patton.

General George S. Patton, Jr., died under mysterious circumstances in the months following the end of World War II. For almost 70 years, there has been suspicion that his death was not an accident - and may very well have been an act of assassination. Killing Patton will take listeners inside the final year of the war and recount the events surrounding Patton's tragic demise, naming names of the many powerful individuals who wanted him silenced.

Another Killing: The Best So Far

Easily the best of all of the "Killing" books.

I really enjoyed this one and enjoy even more telling others about this book. While the assassinations' of Kennedy and Lincoln are part of modern school curriculum, I'm amazed how much I didn't know about Patton's death.

The book is a good overview of the march toward Berlin, but delves more into the Geopolitical Chess game being played than the strategy of the fighting. Great insight into the mind of Patton and his motivations.

Good old World War II story

Where does Killing Patton rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a very readable book, if an audible book can be considered readable. I did not want to stop listening once I started.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gen. Patton of course! There was a very intentional emphasis on the grit of this leader. Old blood and guts is the antithesis of our current peppermint and flowers political leaders today.

Very Good!

Regardless of your own personal politics or what regard you may hold the author, do not let that distract from this amazing book. While any telling of historical events can be skewed, O Reilly does a great job of taking factual known information and not taking liberties with it. He does a good job of explaining what is known, not known, and what may have likely happened throughout. For anyone interested in Patton, or WWII in general, this is a must read!

A good lesson in history

I learned a great deal of history about WWII. It is always good to have true facts pertaining to historical events and OReilly did that. Easy to listen to and the follow up about the lives of the participants was really fascinating . Good listen.
I would recommend the book to anyone interested in history.

God rest a Great General. unbelievable story.

Very interesting read. I love history but had never heard of the chance that The Great Patton was murdered. Made me sick to my stomach. Here was political mayhem in the forties.

Compelling and Insightful

O'Reilly reveals obscured facts and weaves a masterful tale of Patton's life that would have otherwise been kept hidden. An absolute tragedy to learn that Stalin could have been contained had Truman and Eisenhower set aside their petty rivalry and simply trusted their top commander.

Killing Patton by Martin Dugard and Bill O'Rielly, a must read

This book has left me passionate.
Best WW2 story I have ever heard.
The performance is the best I ever heard and I've heard hundreds. O'Rielly is so personable!
The battle descriptions made me sob and once, physically ill. I felt ashamed of my days as a 1960's radical. I had so little respect for that generation. O my God. My father was a triage Navy medic. He could not talk much about it. Thank you Mr. Dugard and Mr. O'Rielly.
With great respect, Paul D. Vancil
