One of the worst
I bought this book as a daily deal for two reasons: the price and the reviews. I do not understand how it rated 4.2 stars -- not even worth the $2.95 I paid for it! The premise was so improbable, it was beyond laughable.
A lawyer agrees to represent a guy for a minor traffic violation and subsequently learns he might have done far worse, like killing two young boys. The client threatens the life of the lawyer's son if he refuses to represent him. The lawyer then turns to a sleazy past client and hires him to kill this new client. And on it goes...
I only struggled thru the first hour of the book before deciding to give it up, which is rare for me. I hate not finishing a book but simply could not make myself listen any further.
Don't waste your time or money on this one

pretty damn awesome!
pretty damn real! pretty damn awesome! Nick is the man! Its always weird though because I associate him with The Land Series by Aleron Kong. This story coukd be considered slow going for some but the build up is real... you feel what the author intended for you to feel with the help of the narrator... and the twist and turns in this story has me serioulsy fearing those in powerful positions with powerful friends and what they could do if they had cruel intentions. It was good. YOU SHOULD READ and google and learn something while your at it lol.

Got it through Kindle Unlimited
I was so surprised that I chose a book to read from the Kindle Unlimited store and along with the Kindle it was also covered by Audible,
The book was slow to start but once it got going a bit it was hard to stop listening. Scott Pratt's books are very good and suspenseful. The performance by Nick Podehl was well done and made the story come alive.
This was good enough that I will look for further books by the author and Narrator. If you like books like John Grisham, you will like this.

WOW!! What a ride
My first Scott Pratt book and it was a duesy, I'm looking forward to lots more great reading and listening. The narration by Nick Poehl was first rate.

Never knew quite where we were going
I really enjoyed this book and the performance of it. Although in the end we got where I thought we were going the twists on the way were unexpected and often heartbreaking.

It took a direction I wasn't expecting... and held my attention quite nicely. (something that is admittedly hard to do). The narrator was AWESOME. At first, I truly didn't like him... but he grew on me early... and at times It felt like there was more than one person reading the book. He had excellent range. Highly recommended.
