You owe it to yourself to listen to this book, but you would be well-advised to save it for a day when you're more in the mood for intellectual stimulation than mere entertainment.

This audiobook is probably the closest history of Ivan; remember Eisenstein's films were subject to the propaganda of Stalin.

A decent audiobook that covers the major points of the life of Ivan IV. More importantly, it provides the viewer with the life events forming the famous Tsar of Russia, from his troubled childhood, being surrounded by enemies, and his military/political exploits

Thought-provoking audiobook on Ivan the Terrible (or Awesome, Fearsome, Formidable) - In the end, you can take all the information and try and figure out; was he a great founder of a nation, psychopathic ruler, both? Truth is often grey and this book does a great job of showing that.

A wonderful audiobook that skirts the bloody ruler portrait and creates a new profile of a ruler who becomes more and more psychopathic as his paranoia increases.
