Truth is, we are not always generous with ourselves where God is concerned. Many of us have done well to incorporate regular times of solitude and silence into the rhythm of our ordinary lives, which means we've gotten pretty good at giving God 20 minutes here and half an hour there. And there's no question we are better for it!
But we need more. Indeed, we long for more. somebody recommended to me Ruth's book called "sacred rhythms". As I was looking for that book, I stumbled over this one and I'm so glad I did. This book couldn't have been more timely. it is wonderfully written, well. researched, accessibly put together, and a joy to listen to. Deep, rich work
This book touched a deep place in my soul and made me cry. It exposed the longing in my heart to draw near to God, even when I frenetically stay away from Him through action and self-soothing activities. This is one that I will definitely listen to again.
