Acerca de esta escucha

A story of foxes, from O-ha and her six unborn cubs in Trinity Wood, to Camio, an American red fox far away in his zoo cage. The animals in Trinity Wood feel safe from predators, but their world is changing: Humans are coming closer with their bulldozers, houses, their guns, and their dogs.

Hunters Moon is a very intriguing story of a foxes life told in the foxes point of view. I really enjoyed the story because it may have come from a human but these things are very much happening today. The story starts off slow but it is well worth reading/listening to. I highly recommend this book. I received this book for free upon my request but it has no bearing on my review.

A Foxes Journey

Sadly, I don't have as much free time to read anymore like I did when I was younger, or in college, but on long drives I often turn to Audible to pass the time. I was to glad to see Hunter's Moon/Foxes of Firstdark (US title) available on audible and I was eager to wait for the perfect drive to become reacquainted with this old favorite. As usual, Garry Kilworth is amazing as weaving the narrative of his world, his characters and story, which is further brought to life by the talented voice acting of Matthew Leiper. In the early stages I wasn't sure that I thought Mr. Leiper's take on the characters was going to work for my personal preferences, but he grew on me quickly, and I greatly enjoyed being reintroduced to these old, favorite characters of mine with his voice attached to them. If you enjoy stories like Watership Down, you should give Hunter's Moon (a criminally underrated story, if you ask me) a try. I remember being brought to tears during some of the trials and tribulations of the characters of Hunter's Moon and feeling a great sentimental attachment to many of them as well, all hallmarks of a great story in my opinion. I look forward to "reading" Hunter's Moon again, hopefully in far less time than it took me to give it a second try after reading it for the first time in the late 2000s.
