Wonderful!!

This is second in what turns out to be a marvelous series. The characters are engaging, the movement from the past to the present is smooth and adds to the story, and the mystery is wonderful. Highly recommend.

10/10 story, 5/10 narration

This might be me being picky bc I re listened to book 1 right before playing this one, but they changed the narrator for Aunt Francis and I don't like this new one 😪 So half of the book felt a bit grating to me.

Decent. This first one was better.

Pretty good story thought I kept having to go back and re-listen to parts to keep the characters straight. The mystery wasn’t as compelling as the first book and I felt like the wrap up at the end wasn’t satisfying. She teased the relationship with the cop and then…

You should read the first book

Overall, the story holds your attention and the ending is not obvious. But there is too much reliance on characters and events in the earlier novel. This is particularly obvious with character development. A good listen.

wonderful continuation of the series

I love this sequel. the characters were developed well, and the story had perfect twists and turns.

I love how the author left the story open for the next book. easy read. very enjoyable.

Brilliant storyline and narrators

I love the twists and turns that keep me guessing - at my age I’ve read (and watched) a LOT of mystery novels - and I’ve yet to guess the true culprit in these. Narration is perfect.

Enjoyable Mystery

I enjoy the character development that has occurred over this and the prior book. It’s what drives my interest in wanting to know what happens/happened next. Occasionally the inner monologue of characters goes on a little too long for my taste. It’ll happen during the middle of an exchange with someone else, and I either loose track of what’s been verbally said vs thought. Or just want them to hurry up and speak already. I’m sure that’s just my own personal impatience though. This details of story are ones that I wouldn’t pick at too closely. Just enjoy it for what it is.

I love the first book but this one was kinda disappointing? I like the narrator, though.
