Pleasantly surprised!

I thought it was a good story and I am so glad that it didn’t devolve into being only sex! So many times stories about supernatural things turn into just sex and lust and the actual storytelling takes a backseat. It’s OK for things to get a little bit hot and sexy sometimes but if that’s all the story is for it gets old fast. If you like magic, fighting, and some steamy scenes of women loving women then I think you’ll enjoy this. The world that was created is interesting and I’m looking forward to hearing more stories set in it.

Marie Castle is a new author for me. I feel in love with her. I couldn't put the book down. Please tell me Marie that ther a 2nd book to Hell's Belle😁

Entertaining

Overall I really enjoyed the story, although the twists and turns were sometimes confusing. (I might not have been paying enough attention.) At times, the narration was irksome, as the dialects were periodically inconsistent. Loved the humor infused in the story.

I liked it!

Demons aren't usually my thing, but I saw this recommended on facebook and gave it a try. I'm glad I did. I was more than surprised that I actually liked it. The characters are well developed and the story very creative. It's not as dark as the title would insinuate. The main character pokes fun at herself a bit, and is sometimes a reluctant heroine.

I also was doubly surprised when I actually met the author, who is legally blind, at a conference in New Orleans and she gave one of the most touching award-acceptance speeches I've ever heard. After hearing her speak off the cuff so eloquently, it was clear to me how she could write so effectively for audio. I'll look forward to reading/listening to more from her.

Fantasic fantastic story

Soooo here we have a great story line.. some times the thinking monos go on a little , but i really like the southern accent from the narrator. Let get back to the great story line.... A really cool set of ideas and creatures and discriptions... Im really sad that the second book is not yet availabe ... cause id be binge cleaning something just to listen ... I feel inlove with just about all the charactors ! And i dont feel its to much just great sex scenes... Infact i cannot wait for the next book to have some, but the love relationship of the main charactors , has a good build and i really cannot wait for more in the next book... My little romantic paranormal book worm self really like this version of where creatures , vampires and magical beings! Love it!

Wow? Doesn't quite do it justice...

Interesting people, particularly the one in whose head we spend our time. The story takes place in one of my favorite areas, the one surrounding the legends of N'awlins. The species are varied and many, not stuck in a particular genre of witches, vamps, and wares. The unique magics of southern Louisiana add Cajun spice, as do the variety of diverse unicorns.

The author is intelligently witty, and the narrator has great timing. I love the accents overall, quite varied and well read.

Kate is smart, sassy, and *cough*... The author was careful with her sensibilities. I suppose it'd be ungentleperson of me to do less. Jaq is soft, hard, and ancient.

I liked it more than I didn’t

I’m interested in the continuation of the story. There was a lot packed into this first book that made it feel like too much at times. But I like where it’s going and look forward to finding answers to questions unanswered here. It was entertaining, not super deep or full of angst (thank you for that part). This could develop into a really good series 🤞🏻.

Book 2?

I really enjoyed the story. I feel like there is a lot untold still and could go into another book. We are kinda left hanging about Kate's father and Jac is still a mystery. I feel like there is a lot of story left that could go into a second book.

Cate Delacy is a witch who has her own investigation business. Detective Jacquelene Slone is helping in the investigation of a demon trying to open a gate to hell”s legions. A great narration in a genre I done normally like.
