Acerca de esta escucha

Gavin Leonard is the worst.

He lives in the best party house off campus at Valley U, overrun by jocks galore.

I live next door, watching Jane Austen adaptations with my sketchbook in hand.

He stays on his side of the fence.

I stay on mine.

Now we're accidentally on a camping trip together, but there's only one tent left.

Gavin Leonard is the worst.

And he's the last guy who broke my heart.

Good

The storyline was a bit different compared to similar books of the second chance trope. I liked the progression to reconciliation but hated that the issue that caused the separation was brushed off in the end and would have liked to see how the heroine dealt with the truth revealed. i love that the author didn't put in unnecessary drama to prolong the story. The narrators were both enjoyable and gave life to the characters. Overall good book and worth my credit.

Not what I expected (SPOILER-ish)

I liked it but I felt like it needed a bit more drama and she forgave him way too easily without knowing the truth so I didn’t really like that part but it was a good book. So far I like the series.

It’s cute

I love Rebecca Jenshak such a great author. This book is cute I like the second story I should of read it instead of listening to it, The guy did great but the girl was awful it took me a few days to get through the book because she’s just not good but other then that the story was cute.

Second Chances, Banter and Just The Right Amount of Spice

I knew I was right about the Campus Wallflower series when I said in my review of Tutoring the Player that the first book was laying the groundwork—and by book two, it would hit its stride. And Hating the Player? It definitely did.

This one follows Violet, Daisy’s roommate, who also happens to live behind the White House (which would be fine, except her ex, Gavin, lives there too). They had a hot-and-heavy relationship sophomore year… until he cheated, and she’s held onto that grudge ever since. But when a friend group camping trip forces them into close proximity, all that lingering sexual tension ignites into something neither of them can ignore.

What I loved about this book is that it moves at a just right pace—not rushed, not dragging. Vi and Gavin’s story isn’t just about rekindling romance; it’s about growth, second chances, and chasing their dreams. The banter? On point. The chemistry? Undeniable. The steam? A solid 3.5/5. And while the HEA was a little predictable (and the epilogue felt a bit generic), I still had so much fun reading this.

Overall, 4/5 stars—a perfect, palate-cleansing read after Onyx Storm. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series!

So good!

I really like this series so far! The characters are real and there is so much humor. I love Gavin, he’s so playful and funny. Violet is so sweet. And, I totally saw that little twist at the end… I just had a feeling. You’ll have to listen to find out what I mean. Can’t wait to listen to next book in this series!

okay

good story but the ending felt rushed and the female Narrator sounds too mature to play a college student
