Female narrator (Grace Grant) 👎🏼

Grace Grant is not good at the male voice. It’s distracting. I want to listen to the remaining 3 books but am annoyed that I have to endure another 24 hours of her. In the future, I think I will avoid books where she’s narrating.

No clue! But I surely buy and read every single one.

With everything from big money, suspense, betrayal and luscious sexual scenes. That will make your toes curl HOT!!! It was wildly thrilling! With a turn in every new direction. God that was fun!

This one will bring chills down your back. There is so many twists and turns. I am torn on who to trust in this story. Brilliantly written!

Behind Every Great Fortune There's A Crime

If you enjoy mystery, suspense, action, drama, romance, sex, you'll enjoy Hard Rules.

Shane is a successful lawyer. His father is head of a Mafioso and he's dying. Shane wants to legitimize the business while his brother, Derek, wants to take it deeper into crime. Then there's Shane's mother who meddles on both sides to benefit her own agenda.

Emily is on the run. New city, new job, new identity. There's no hints or clues as to what she's running from.

Shane and Emily meet in a coffee shop where they have insta attraction and leave with each other's coffee. Next time they meet Shane asks her to dinner and from there a one night stand. Shane starts thinking he wants more than a one night stand with Emily.

Here starts the good stuff....Turns out Emily's new job is the assistant to Shane's dad. She isn't aware of the family-tie. Since Shane's dad goes thru an assistant a week, Shane had not met Emily in that role. When Shane and Emily realize their connection, Shane accusses her of spying for his dad. This is their story.....

This story kept me intrigued from page one. There's not a lot of inner dialogue or retieration which are two pet peeves of mine. Emily is a strong female lead which really makes me wonder why she's on the run.

The second book Damage Control is now out so I don't have to worry about the cliffhanger.

Grace Grant's performance. A couple of her male voices were to slow. I think this is more the producers doing. I have many books performed by Grace that don't have this issue.

Jeremy York's performance was spot on as usual.

Worth a Credit/$$ Absolutely

Love the series but ...

I know this is the first book in this series but I have listened to them all. I really enjoyed the story that Lisa created. The characters are interesting and likeable. I would have liked to have had more story involving her past and the danger her brother brought to her.

The only negative I have is the narration by Grace Grant. Jeremy York was phenomenal, as usual but Her male voices grate on my nerves. They are choppy and stilted. The cadence is very slow and sound so unnatural. It really distracts from the story. I love Lisa Renee Jones and look forward to listening to her books but cringe when I see Grace Grant is narrating.

Truth and Love of Two People to Become One

This is another good book by Lisa Renee Jones I loved it, if you are a fan of her other great books you will get wrapped up in this one quickly. I am also a fan of the two narrators so this helped me follow their story as well. Can't wait to see what Lisa comes up with next, she is a great author :)

Good story; bad cliffhanger

This book has a novel storyline. I am interested to see what happens to the characters, and not just how their relationship plays out. Bad news: I have to wait because the next book in the series hasn't been released!!!! Well, at least not as an audiobook. Grace Grant is a good narrator. The male voice wasn't unpleasant or annoying, but was a bit creepy-like he was narrating Dateline or could be a serial killer. The female frustrated me a little with the "I have to walk away"..."no, I can't stay away" back and forth. The secret she is hiding better be a doozy or it could seem ridiculous. I will have to wait and see!

Great story. Keeps you engaged. Good combo of romance and mystery. I really enjoyed the readers of the story.

What made the experience of listening to Hard Rules the most enjoyable?

This book started off slow and picked up right when it is getting good it is over. I really hope the next book doesn't drag like this one did at the begining.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The woman was the worst narrator I have ever heard. She tried to hard and ended up sounding like a computer and Siri all mixed up and I HATED her sections. I almost gave up and returned the book but I am too nosy to give up I just sucked it up and delt with it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It took me longer to get through this book than it has others.
