Acerca de esta escucha
He's the monster in the cage who would do anything to get back to his mates. Even me. Especially me.
I'd heard the rumors about the sub-basement at Prometheus Labs. Now, with my student debts mounting and my funding in doubt, I have no choice but to take Professor Castaban's creepy assignment. Which is when I discover the rumors were true. They're keeping a monster in a cage. And I'm supposed to study him.
Ruzzaur is the biggest creature I've ever seen, all wings, stone gray skin, and a talented tail. I shouldn't give in to him, but his piercing eyes and growl light a fire within me. But he won't let me set him free until I agree to one condition . . . I have to go with him, back to his world.
Back to his mates, the cocky Bemorr and quiet, thoughtful Akon. Now, all I have to do is convince them to let me be part of their roost and stop Ruzzaur going after the worst monster. The one who captured him and the human who will kill them all.
Only nothing is simple in this new world filled with my worst nightmares. Before I know it, I'm in a fight to end all fights.
Because if I lose my gargoyles, I lose everything. And I'm not letting them go, not this time.
Contains mature themes.

The heroine: Ivy - she was in an accident a year ago when there was an explosion in a lab where she was working and is still recovering from fractures of both her femur and tibia. She was blamed for the explosion and abruptly fired. She needed money so was hired as a lab assistant at prometheus labs, which was way below her qualifications, but she has bills to pay, including hefty student loans. Now after six months, she has a performance review with her boss. She is given the night shift on a confidential project.
The Heroes: Ruzzaur, Bemor, Akon - they are gargoyle knights of the first order and are from another dimension, where they fight demons and nightmares from the underworld. They are also mates, with Ruzzaur being the alpha. When he sees the new tiny female, he has been biding his time in a jail cell in a basement of a laboratory. He had been hunting a monster hunter named Grimes when he was caught. The bars aren’t enchanted but are strong enough to take a lot of time to get out. He likes Ivy’s scent and feistiness. Bemor and Akon are at their home at Castle Featherstone; they have been unable to find their alpha.
The Story: Ivy is disturbed to find out that the new project involves a captive monster. More so when she finds out there is no way out of the contract she signed. She works for a few days, but the more she finds out about the project, the more she thinks that she has to do what is right. She doesn’t believe in keeping a sentient being captive and experimented on to be used as some sort of weapon in the future.
It isn’t long before they escape to the other dimension, and they take Ivy along with them. The story is good, though there are a few things I didn’t like. For instance, at one point Ivy says her hair is red, but it was blonde when Ruzz first saw her and a few seconds after she says it is red, she refers to herself as blonde. This was an MMFM standalone romance with a lot of steam, and I was in the mood for that today, so I enjoyed it quite a bit. The storyline about Ruzz going after Grimes was good, though was put on hold for quite a while for all that sexy time.
This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Jack Calihan and Eva Caine. Eva has nice voice, though you can kind of tell she is reading, but overall, I liked her quite a bit. Jack Calihan sounds a bit older than I would have liked and has a deep, raspy voice that works well for the Gargoyles, and he was great at doing different voices for different characters.
