Grace is amazing. About this all Christians agree. Yet nearly all forms of Christianity put significant limits on grace. Those forms of Christianity that proclaim grace alone actually saves typically don’t believe God gives grace to everyone; while those forms of Christianity that proclaim God gives grace to everyone typically don’t believe grace alone actually saves. Must grace either be that which saves alone but doesn’t go to all or that which goes to all but doesn’t save alone?

In Grace Saves All, David Artman argues that grace saves alone and goes to all. This inclusive approach to Christianity is variously called universal reconciliation, universal salvation, or perhaps most accurately, Christian universalism. He contends that the inclusive/Christian universalist approach is necessary because it offers the only Christian theology which successfully defends the goodness of God. For it logically follows that if God is all-good, all-knowing, and all-powerful, then God must also be all-saving.

Often dismissed as a modern feel-good theology, Christian universalism is an ancient, orthodox, and biblical theology which was expounded by early Christians and early church fathers. Artman brings much deserved attention to this wonderful spirituality.

I appreciate the authors approach and the way he explains his conculsions. There are so many golden nuggets.

The most impressive thing to me was the amount of references to other scholars who didn’t necessarily take the same position but I understood the complexities of the topic.

At last I get it! Raised in the Church of Christ, of which my earthly father was minister, baptized at the age of six, and now 65, I identify with the author’s spiritual journey.
My faith revitilized by the work of the late Old Testament scholar Michael S. Heiser (author of “The Unseen Realm”), my “scientific“ mind (I am a surgical oncologist) reoriented by the work of Peter Enns (author of “The Evoution of Adam”), and my eyes opened to the way God works by Gregory A. Boyd (wrote “God of the Possible” and more) and Thomas J. Oord (“wrote God Can’t” and more), this book ( Grace Saves All : The Necessity of Christian Universalism) has clarified my understanding of Jesus/God/Spirt, the Gospel. I listened, re-listen, and am listening again. This book is helping me to put all of my previous studies and contemplations in order. No exaggeration! A must read!

Completely Thought Provoking

I can’t say I’m 100% Christian Universalist, but if I do become one it’s in no small part because of this book. David lays out a well written, biblically sound, and philosophically thought provoking argument for the Ultimate Reconciliation view of hell. Great read!

God’s goodness

This book, Grace Saves All, is a must read for any serious Bible student and others who might wonder if God really is good all the time.

God's Goodness Expounded

I listened to this book over the last week. David Artman clearly articulates three views on salvation-transactional, exclusive and inclusive. And in so doing, he reverently shows how only one of those views magnifies the Goodness of our loving Heavenly Father. I appreciated him sharing his own journey to this understanding and found his journey similar to my own. It was encouraging to hear him share how the understanding of God's unfailing grace to save all is gaining wider acceptance and recently has come to have a place at the table in conservative evangelical circles. The recommended reading list in the book is excellent. Thank you, David for stepping out and writing this much needed understanding of God's never-ending pursuit of his fallen sons and daughters until we are all back home.

Accessible, beautiful and honest

The message in this book is good news. You can trust in God's goodness! All will be reconciled to Him in the end. None will be lost. After listening to this audiobook, I am inspired to uphold God's goodness, sharing this wonderful understanding to counter the harmful narratives involving eternal punishment or annihilation.
