I wrote this book following two months of intensive research and tweaking to establish myself on Goodreads. It's a difficult site to get used to and many authors give up and move on to other things. But Goodreads presents massive opportunities to authors. There are over 20 million members (and rising, fast) and they are all passionate readers - the very people authors need.

This audiobook makes it quick and easy to authors to understand how to use Goodreads and how to use it as part of their author platform.

It has great reviews and the personal messages I get from grateful authors are very touching.

I believe it will do well as an audiobook because it does very well on both the Kindle and print platforms and audio will give authors who travel, commute, or do a lot of waiting an opportunity to take in the knowledge without having to invest their precious time in absorbing yet another book! I've taken myself to audiobooks and podcasts because, as an author, I have such a big backlog of books to read and review that reading now seems like work. Audio is more fun, somehow, and I'm building my audiobook collection as quickly as I built my Kindle collection! From research, other authors are doing the same.

This book tells you how we can use Goodreads, the website for readers to promote your book. It is easy to read and insightful.

Narration is distractingly bad

What did you like about this audiobook?

I'm optimistic that I will enjoy this book when I read it, and find value in the content. However, I couldn't get past the first chapter listening to the terrible narration.

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

The insider perspective on using Goodreads as an author is something I am looking forward to reading.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

Think of any skit you've ever seen where someone pretends to be in a high school play or is otherwise an inexperienced actor - it sounds like that. Reading out loud and sounding so stiff with forced intonation.

I thought I knew all about Goodreads, but after listening I realized there's so much more!

Goodreads for people who know nothing about Goodreads

Most of this book is a sort of "Goodreads for dummies." If you're familiar with Goodreads, most of the information won't be helpful.

There are a few tips about book promoting, which is what I wanted. But a lot of it was "how to use Goodreads" rather than "how to utilize Goodreads as an author."

Narration was impossible to listen to ...

I really tried to listen to the Audible version of this book but found the narrator so difficult to listen to that I could not get beyond listening to the Preface ... I did really want to but found her voice, intonation so annoying, it was like chalk on a chalkboard.
