The story:

Amazing Series
The narrator is excellent and really helped bring this story to life. A challenge given the number of POV characters (it’s a lot.) I’ve only gotten interested in the 40k universe in the last year or so and have never been able to play the tabletop game.
However, as a lifelong sci-fi fan I’m happy that there is so much more to 40k. This series andThe Vaults of Terra books are great even if you’re not steeped in the 40k universe. It certainly helps to know about the background and history of factions but these can be understood and enjoyed even if you don’t.

Outstanding Ending
While the first two books were most definitely more tense and the climax of Gods of Mars may be somewhat lackluster, the end of the book closes up all the questions you might've had in satisfying and a somewhat alarming way.
