Excellent commentary on Jacob's story
Dale Ralph Davis if one of the best commentators out there. His commentaries are typically not long or technical but are always engaging, thoughtful, and helpful. This commentary on the life of Jacob is no different. Davis takes us through the 10 chapters in Genesis that details Jacob’s life, along the way we learn about Jacob, God’s grace, and his sovereignty, and how this applies to us.
Jacob is a rascal, he tries to get what he wants through deceit and trickery, but along the way of his difficult life and through several encounters with God he comes out a changed man. Davis takes us along on this journey and if we are paying attention, we too can become changed people.
The reader was very good, he brought a joyful tone to the narration.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in this story.
