I’m an occultist living in a haunted brownstone in upstate New York.

The building is a ghostly double-image of itself, like a picture painted brightly over an older, weirder picture. It’s an equinox place, my mother once said, where dark and light things are equally in power.

She helped me with the hundred-pound centipede, the hostile little man living in my basement, and the emptiness I’d felt since my mother lost her mind.

I tried to help her out of limbo with experiments and spells until I realized if they worked - if we succeeded - I would lose her.

Exhilarating listening experience!

I enjoyed the heck out of listening to Ghostlove: good story, good reading and very engaging- what more can you ask for?

It's a lovely story about love and loss, refreshing in it's intelligent weirdness.
I felt like author Mahoney struggled a bit in getting certain ideas across, but his storytelling was so enjoyable, that didn't particularly matter.

If you're in the mood for something different, try it!

Like reaching out and connecting

An incredible, nostalgic and touching story, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment, and it left that tell-tale heart ache in my chest after finishing, that tells this will stick with me for a long time. The characters were realistic, loveable, selfish, caring, confused and scared in the most human of ways. I felt connected to them, and quickly loved their personalities.

I only wish for more from Mahoney. A semi-recent addition to my top 3 authors/artists of all time.

Cute!

It could have done with a little more every day understanding. As an example the reader never meets the neighbors or anyone else for that matter but this is a fun little October style book.

Ghostlove

I really enjoyed this book, with its highly detailed description s of the different beings, but, the ending was abrupt.It seems to me, it didn't wrap up the loose ends for me.I was left wanting more.

A fascinating take on ghosts and haunting

It kept me spellbound with all the imaginative infirmation about how ghostly interaction.
Performance s were strong and we'll read. Background music was very well done and did not interfere with the story. Great work by all concerned.

Not a romance novel

The story was interesting but unsatisfying at the end. The author was creative with good attention to detail, but sometimes those details didn't actually add value to the plot and seemed more like someone trying too hard to set a mood.

I liked the male more than the female. The MMC was more relatable (probably because we were seeing his POV) but definitely hyperfocused on the haunted house. I don't remember him leaving the house at all once he moved in. Where are all these fresh bananas coming from?

The FMC sometimes came off as cold, aloof, selfish, and/or bitter. She is a ghost struggling with being a ghost. Her mental health challenges seemed to have followed her into the afterlife, even if her body didn't. I can't judge her too harshly considering her situation, but I didn't think she was very charming.

This was a story about an unlikely relationship between a man and a woman. It is NOT a romance. If there's love to be found in this book, it is platonic. I'm not saying that's bad, it was just unexpected.

I was not a fan of the writing style because I really had to actively listen to keep up with the story. I was unable to multitask. Audio production was good though.

Held my interest

Astonishingly imagined! Very different from anything I’ve ever heard! Wondrous creation of sense and feeling...

for the most part I really liked and enjoyed this book. it felt like it was missing something though but for the most part it's worth the read

Haunted house, warm heart

Okay. I'm ready for Halloween now. This oddly dark and sweet story has completely captivated me and set me in the right frame of mind to fully appreciate this witchy, haunted season—the kind of genre-stretching reset I recommend to everyone. Ghostlove is not horror. Sure, there's creepiness—but it's not cringe-worthy. It actually hit a very child-like part of me that still exists but often needs a nudge: the ability to fully and openly suspend disbelief. I say, just go with it. Let yourself fall in love with these ghosts and dead people and lose yourself in the strange hallways and creaky floorboards of your mind. Get swept up in this spellbinding multi-cast performance and let your imagination be recharged.

What is love?

Very unusual, in an engrossing and entertaining way. I was impressed with the author's originality and insight.
