Rival factions in the city waged war in the courts and the street over the coveted seventh card club license. One of Poker's Best Historical Texts
Working in the gaming world I have read dozens of poker history books. "Gardena Poker Clubs: A High-stakes History" is among the best. Well researched with a captivating narrative, Max Votolato's passion comes through as he brings to life a part of poker history that would've otherwise been forgotten to time. Some great interviews including with Larry Flynt. This will always have a place on my bookshelf (and in my Audible library).
