When Phillips H. Lord created his long running Gang Busters radio series in January of 1936, crime was rampant and criminals (both actual and fictional) were being glamorized in movies and newspapers. In response, Lord brought the public this police procedural series, dramatizing stories of real cops who kept real counterfeiters, safe crackers, and killers off the streets - and even broadcasting alerts for criminals known to be at large. These 20 digitally remastered and restored episodes present raw case histories that point out an ancient truth: that society's way is the best way, and that he who flagrantly defies law and custom never wins… and usually pays a stiff price for his boldness.

Enough With The Acting See...
I ordered this with a credit from Audible. Instead of having the book read, it's horribly acted out. I really wish they gave you an option of either having a BOOK read to you or acted out. I had high hopes for this one but I couldn't make it 15 minutes before I tapped out, see. Modern day actors trying to sound like actors from the 40's and 50's who were trying to sound like gangsters from the 40's. Very disappointed.
