Always a solid story from Lynwood Barclay...

This is one of those authors I can always count on for a good mystery. In the vein of Harlan Coben this author takes a “normal“ every day occurrence and makes a menacing story that captivates until the end.
The publisher’s summary is very comprehensive and gives away almost too much of the story. I won’t add to this or I might as well tell the ending!
The characters are believable and fleshed out. They’re flawed and don’t always make the right decisions which makes them more endearing and realistic. The plot is plausible if not feasible.
George Newbern does a great job narrating.
This book is VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Barclay and Newbern teaming up how can you lose? It was a great story and spoke to what family really is! Enjoy!

I was drawn into this book and had a real hard time not staying up all night to finish! Highly recommend.

I can definitely say i didn't know how this would end. i really enjoyed the main characters and was happy with the ending (as much as i could be).

Fast paced kept me on my toes

I have never read anything by Linwood Barclays. All I can say is wow! This book was like a ride in a high speed race car. The narrator is excellent. The plot enthralling. I really enjoyed the ride. I probably will read all of this authors other books. I loved it!

Engaging - in an emergency room drama kind of way

Have you ever watched one of the medical drama TV shows where a hijacked school filled with children rams into the emergency room at the local hospital during a power outage and law enforcement just had all their tires slashed so they could not get there… you know, totally unbelievable but you just couldn’t bring yourself to turn it off?
That’s what this book was like.
It was a very interesting storyline but about half way through became unbelievable.

The main characters were well developed. The narration was perfection. The storyline.. mmm… a bit much.
Entertaining, engaging although exaggerated.

When I started listening, I had doubts, but they went away.

As I said, when I first started reading I was not too impressed with where the story was going. Then I was able to start thinking what would I do if I were Miles. As the plot developed, it was populated with some pretty interesting characters. This story is right out of the headlines and does make one think about the unintended consequences of some of our emerging technology. The narrator was top rate. I did enjoy the conclusion.

Superbly written with twists and turns at every corner. Comparable to a dime Harlen Coben novel.
