Second Listen

Recently, I was going through an internal crisis of career, of where to live, of direction for my life.

There were only a few things that kept me feeling stable, but they weren’t enough and I found myself crying on a regular basis.

One day, my daughter had to give me a big pep talk and I was done with the lack of sleep and putting myself out of sorts to deal with yet another dramatic change — too many changes in the past few years.

I thought, I need to get myself together, this isn’t me and I need a good friend to help me through.

Well, that wasn’t it either…so I thought I would listen to a book that would serve enough inspiration to help me out of the funk of too many changes and too much solitude.

Scrolling on Audible, I stopped at FEARLESS and gave it a shot. A second go around. It’s even sweeter and more relatable to me this time.

I love Rebecca’s voice/point of view and candor. I just finished it and love her bonus at the end. It’s the cherry on top for sure.

I’m now going to listen a third time because I’m out of the funk and planning a brand new and scary adventure and I believe I will get even more this time round.

Fearless and Flawless

Fearless is as cool and practical as Minkoff’s Morning After Bag. Exactly the advice “her girl” needs to hear.

Amazing, heartfelt, and very, very insiteful.

The Author is Right

Courage is the watch word for sure; an attitude of endurance and perseverance. I enjoyed this short listen; it’s validating to some extent. My only gripe is that family was never REALLY first. The bags, the shirt, and the social media influencers will all pass, but the impression a mother gives is eternal to her children. I had to turn the audio off in mid-interview with her mom. ‘I wanted to give her freedom,’ in reference to her very liberal way of not being involved in what her daughter was doing even at five years old, (so she could do her own thing). Luckily her daughter skimmed off the cream, but still, though muted, she puts her family sort of, but not totally, first, though that’s an advancement. In general it’s a great you can do it book and I can dig that.

A New me has awakened

I had never heard of Rebecca Minkoff. Not her clothing or bag line nor even in passing in any magazine or clothing store. I could’ve been oblivious to it though because I am not a follower of designers or expensive bags. The most I ever spent on a bag was $60 and it was at a sale at a GUESS outlet store. However, I came across Rebecca’s Fearless book as a suggested title according to my taste. I am glad I made that purchase. Her story is so empowering and gives me hope even now at my age ( 43) that I can still move towards that dream. That any obstacle is but a piece of the puzzle to reach that dream. That everything I have experienced and gone through is what is giving me the skills I need to make it all happen. Thank you Rebecca for telling your story and sparking that hope and drive within me. Now, I am gonna go check out her bag and clothing line, and when I get to a level where I can comfortably be a loyal Minkoff customer maybe I will tell my story of how her story empowered me . That her bag isn’t just another piece of accessory to a cute outfit but a conversation piece to the journey of how I got my first Rebecca Minkoff bag.

This book was so good I am going to buy the paper version!

I loved her stories and tips! In the beginning I couldn’t feel the emotion in her voice like I could hear it in her words if that makes sense. Overall, loved it and already shared it with others !
