Every year, Rebecca K. O’Connor gives her friends a homemade present on her birthday. The time spent planning, crafting, and mailing friends something special has become a meditation on the amazing people in her life and how wonderful it is to have another year with them. For her 50th birthday, she wanted to do something special.
Far from Fearless is this gift, a collection of micro-essays and pencil drawings on plant prints. It is the culmination of a year she spent sending a weekly essay by email, a year of learning to create prints from the leaves in her neighborhood, and art drawn from the photographs of nature she has taken on morning walks on her prints. The essays explore the struggles, and joys of embracing an “artist’s journey” with an overarching message to persevere and to find your joy.

Beautiful stories beautifully told
I really enjoyed this audiobook with its beautiful stories about creativity and nature (2 of my favorite subjects). The narrator did a beautiful job bringing these essays to life. I always understood her and enjoyed the performance. And the essays are wonderful inspiration for any artist, professional or hobbyist. I highly recommend it!

When Finished Immediately Listened Again
The minute I finished Far From Fearless I started listening to it again. The words are wise and the reader, Danielle Rayne, was a perfect match for these thoughtful essays. I highly recommend listening to the book but also buying it because it is beautifully illustrated by the author.
