Instead of telling men how they can hone and refine their aggressive traits, the church has told men that they should aspire to be meek servant-leaders, and when a man shows any signs of independence, he is shown the door. Men are supposed to found households, join brotherhoods, and work toward a mission. God made men to be strong and aggressive risk-takers. This is a feature, not a bug. Foster and Tennant remind us that it’s good to be a man.

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

Excellent Book
Perhaps years ago a book like this would have seemed second nature to a lot of people. Unfortunately, today, we have lost many of the foundations of culture, friendship and hospitality that we took for granted. Especially since the coronavirus shut downs this book could become extremely helpful in re-establishing Christian community and fellowship.

Sounds judgmental to me.
First of all let me say that I am a Christian. However, this book comes across as being judgmental. If you’re looking to learn how to make friends, I don’t think you’re going to find it here. It could be the narrator that makes the author sounds rigid and judgmental.
