Excellent!! Can't wait for the next book

Really enjoyed the reader, she brought me into the story and kept me there through the whole book. Throughly enjoyed.

Enjoyable

Overall, I enjoyed this story. I love stories that are based around the sea, so this was right up my alley. I liked Fables character- her determination and resolve- at lot and enjoyed her interactions with West. I really look forward to the second book.

Good Book

it was a good listen, though at times it got a little tough to continue. it's a good story but it's a little boring at times

I enjoyed it

I thought the narrator was a good fit for the story. The story itself is interesting, although I will say that our protagonist doesn’t do a whole lot. What kept my interest is the potential of what she CAN do. I was waiting for some kind of plot twist, but that didn’t really happen. I’m hoping this was all to set up the second book to be amazing!

decent story with no depth

The overall story was interesting and had so much potential, but there were many parts that just seemed empty and not fully hashed out. There was also little to zero character development. I wanted so much more from this book than I received. The cliff hanger at the end was kind of ridiculous. I felt like it should've just continued as part of this book because this one didn't feel finished.

The narrator had a pleasant voice and I appreciated her gusto, but a lot of her inflections felt wrong and every time a word ended with a "t" I wanted to throw my phone at the wall.

kept me interested till the very end. I have to finish the series. The ending left me in suspense.

Wonderful Story

I thought this book was very engaging without being overly dramatic. Easy listening, great story, highly recommend! Loved it!

I loved it

I literally couldn't make myself get out of the car. I one more chapter, then where's the next book til I had listed to them all in this series. Didn't want this story to end. Fantastic job Ms Young.

I loved Fable as the MC from the get go.

I haven’t read a fantasy in what feels like months and WOW was this fantastic! This story is so beautifully crafted and exciting. I listed to it on Audible— to which I highly recommend - the narrator was marvelous. At no point today was I able to put it down. It was truly spectacular! It gave me everything I love about a fantasy.

I loved Fable as the MC from the get go. She’s such a ruthless badass! Yes, yes - it’s the typical chosen one trope from a combination of a dead parent plus dead-beat parent. I couldn’t help but scream for her all throughout her enthralling journey.

The adventure is the main plot line, but I enjoyed the small romantic subplot that built up between Fable and West. Not to mention how much I love a found family. All of the crew were fantastic characters that each brought something to hold onto to the story.

Meanwhile.. THE ENDING?! I’ll be starting Namesake immediately.

I need book 2

I loved it. Fable's desire for a family and sense of safety was so well written and so relatable I actually cried a few times listening to this at work. The world that the story is set in is well crafted and compelling in a familiar way if you've read seafaring stories before, but with a freshness that kept it interesting. The narrator had a great voice for the story. I am dying for book 2. I need it.
