Acerca de esta escucha

This is the first book of the Clock series entitled "Every Hour Counts." Gilbert Clock told me these stories in confidence, but since the original owners of Gilbert have long since gone on to a better place, I felt publishing his true life stories would be acceptable. Coming from such humble beginnings as a stack of wood in a dusty corner, Gilbert has done well. He has outlived two generations and is into the third one, but wait, I am getting ahead of myself. I tend to do that from time to time in my excitement to tell you everything he told me, as I said, in confidence. Don and Molly Holscomb purchased Gilbert in 1879 from a gentleman named Mr. Mueller. He owned a small shop in Waterbury, Connecticut. When he placed Gilbert into the display window of his shop, he had no idea that Gilbert would remember minute details about the clothing being worn by the swells of the time, or the mischievious young men as they paraded in front of the display window while they watched the lovely young ladies all dressed in their finery on their way to church, school, or just accompanying their parents on a walk downtown. Gilbert relates true events of the times as though he was a historian, and being there, first hand, to witness the conversations about those events, makes it even more exciting. He makes us feel as though we were there ourselves. Gibert has a lot to tell you about the family, the times, the cities, and about witnessing the families as they grew, had their sorrows as well as their happiness, and that they finally grew old. It was a wonderful achievement for him, a clock, to stay the same in appearance, in this twenty-first century, as he did the day Don and Molly purchased him, so long ago in 1879.
