The charming village of Llanfair, the setting for Rhys Bowen's beloved Constable Evans mysteries, sits amid lush, rolling Welsh meadows populated with quaint cottages and is considered by many of its colorful locals to be a kind of paradise. And she's only a little surprised when her new powers are put to a real-life test; when the center's flamboyant director goes missing, clues to his fate mysteriously appear in Betsy's dreams.

It's a tantalizing mystery for lonely Betsy, who can't help doing a little investigating on her own. But Constable Evans has been involved with Sacred Grove before - looking for a missing American college student who was lured there by Druid worship. As Betsy does her own sleuthing on the spot, Evan comes to realize that there is nothing straightforward about this case and that Betsy has no idea at all of the terrible danger she is in.

A fun quirky listen. And a bit of Welch countryside and culture. A good listen

Evan Evans... my kind of hero

I absolutely love Bowen's Evan Evans series. I can imagine being in Wales climbing the rugged hills in the mist waiting for the sun to burst through the clouds. The characters would be wonderful to meet in the Red Dragon.

Love Evans stories. Light Mystery Good narrator. His “voices” for characters can make you think of the character instantly. Easy listening while cleaning

I always guess the mystery but I enjoy the journey. I look forward to completing the series. I love the Georgie stories Too

I love this series, it’s well written. Listening to it is even better. I highly recommend.

Overall, I enjoyed this production very much. I
loved the story: great combination of humor, suspense, mystery & local color. Interesting comments on Druidism. The narrator was good, especially with the Welsh accent, but overall his delivery lacked dramatic flair.

Each book’s better!

One’s never get tired of the adventures os constable Evans! Pretty good and easy reading!

Really enjoy Rhys Bowen work- moves along really well. River Clark’s narration is great too - well done
