Acerca de esta escucha

The fate of mankind is in the hands of a group of 20-something science nerds in the sequel to Outland, by the Audible #1 best-selling author of the “Bobiverse” series.

The Yellowstone super-eruption has put an end to modern civilization. As cities and countries continue to fall, the colony of Rivendell in the alternate Earth known as Outland looks more and more like the only real hope for humanity. But life in Rivendell isn’t getting any simpler, either. Bill and Kevin continue to discover new worlds; the population continues to rise; winter is approaching; and everyone has their own opinion about how things should be run.

Then, a garbled plea for help from Omaha sends most of the security forces back Earthside to investigate, leaving Monica’s police force understaffed just as a large group of refugees arrive with its own ideas and power structure. With threats from both inside and outside, will the colony even survive until spring?

Almost no character development. The story just ping pongs from conflict to conflict. A let down after such a long wait. I’d rather the author spent his time on the next Bobiverse book rather than this one.

Disappointing follow up

Was a great story setting, ok arc too, way too much straw man politics and paper thin characters on this one for my liking though

Unfortunately political

Loved Outland, so was eagerly awaiting this and was not disappointed…. Except for the fact that I don’t know how long I’ll have to wait to listen to the next chapter in this story.

Ray Porter was amazing as usual.

Wish it was longer

I waited for years for this sequel because I really enjoyed Outland but I finally decided to stop reading it about 2/3 the way through. I agree with other reviewers that there's no character development & story feels disjointed. Hard to follow, ultimately boring and the one storyline I could follow (SPOILER ALERT) is based on the harmful stereotype that people with mental illness (schizophrenia) are dangerous when off medication. Wish the author had researched this and come up with another reason for the character's violent thoughts and actions. People do bad things without having mental illness. finally I agree with all the reviewers that there are a lot of political statements. I happen to agree with most of them but they are presented more as lessons versus natural outcomes or natural flow with the story.

Hodge Podge

Couldn’t wait for this one to come out, I really hope I don’t have to wait as long for book 3! This has become one of my favorite series!!!

Please continue this series!

Ray and Dennis are amazing but this is not their best. The writing, while still entertaining, feels to concerned with creating an avenue for sequels. The performance feels rushed, in Outland the characters had such distinct voices, where in this I had trouble telling them apart. Cool, Kevin is now confident, but he's still Indian... It's been a month since the ending of the last book, where did his accent go?? These are all nitpicks and i still recommend this book. I just think maybe this one needed to cook a little longer, both in the writing stage and recording stage. Still love both of em though

Great but...

Oh, I really enjoyed this. I was really glad to see a second bus come out as I really enjoyed the first one. So that extent I would say if you enjoyed the first one you enjoyed this one too.

Good

The performance of Ray Porter was outstanding again.
The beginning of the story and the plot line were generally nice, but the story devolves into a political woke propaganda piece, where anybody with woke political views is a complete genius, whereas anybody to the right of communism or is over the age of 40 is a complete moron.
I was a huge fan of the Bobiverse series and ordered copies for many friends. However, the authors recent works have become political rantings. The author is very detailed and exact in every other aspect of his stories but somehow the political rantings lack any thought, reasoning or logic.
