Great series!

From beginning to end, got me hooked. Loved the realism baked in, not all the good guys come out alive. Great narration!

Good closure to exceptional series

This could easily have turned into "and they lived happily ever after..." While it brings a very good closure to the series, it reminds us that extinction level events are messy. That while good may triumph - there is a cost to be paid. Good people often pay that price for those that remain.

This was an OUTSTANDING series!!

This was an OUTSTANDING series that made me grab the next book in the series well before I was done with the previous... I did this so I would not miss a beat in the story... It was so compelling, and quite original in its overall plot, I thought... Do yourself a favor, and start with "Sick" the first in the series, and then don't stop until you get to "Down" the seventh and "final?" installment... You will NOT regret it!!

Sad it's over

Well, it's over... and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit sad about that. What a fantastic roller coaster ride of a story. If you like a great post apocalyptic tale, you would be nuts to not read this series.

Mr. Battles is an amazing writer! MUST READ!!

From book 1 to book 7... I have been invested in all of these characters and the enormous struggle they were forced into! From the moment you start this and how well the characters are written... you will be hooked! I am sad it's over! I may start back at book 1!

Phenomenal series

This was a really good series. It pulled you in and never let go! It’s over and I still want more. Idk, but with all the craziness in the world in the last few years with Covid-19, this somehow doesn’t seem that far-fetched and that makes it terrifying.
Don’t miss this series it hits a home run the whole way!

Wonderful ending to a great series

Would you consider the audio edition of Down to be better than the print version?

Yes. Though I haven't read the print version, I don't feel it would've given me the same emotions as listening to it did

Which character – as performed by MacLeod Andrews – was your favorite?

I would have to say Martina. I liked her spunk, plus the way her voice was read made her interesting :)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes when Martina and Maureen finally meet up.

Fantastic series!
Author writes characters that are believable, and the narrator, MacLeod Andrews (awesome name, btw), is probably the best audiobook narrator I've ever heard. His attention to detail in how he emotes for specific characters, as well as his ability to completely change his voice to suit the accent and the gender of a character is unsurpassed.

If you're reading this review, chances are good that you already know what I'm talking about. If you haven't listened to the audiobook or read the print or kindle versions, I would highly encourage you to do so.
