Pam and Paul Bigelow were excited and honored to be hosting the Sunrise Harbor Maine Animal Shelter’s annual Valentine’s Day charity event. They certainly didn’t anticipate their elegant Victorian mansion turning into a cold-hearted crime scene.
We’re talking a man strangled with a string twinkling lights, the disappearance of a treasured family heirloom, and shelter dogs cowering in fear. All this happening in the span of a five minutes, all in complete darkness, and none of it making a bit of sense.
Who’d want to create front page havoc at such a beloved charitable event?
Could the key to solving this mystery be the small brown and white dog found shivering in a cardboard box?
When a Portland, Maine, television news crew stuck a microphone in Pam’s face and asked her to comment on her disastrous Valentine’s Day event, she shook her head, smiled sweetly, and said, “It looks like someone wasn’t feeling the love.”
There was one important aspect the perpetrator of this crime didn’t take into consideration: You don't want to cross a dog lover. Well, in this case it’s eight dog lovers who are determined to make sure justice will be served!
