Acerca de esta escucha

From exiled prince to knight to hero of the realm.

Nox’s time at Woodson University didn’t just come with progress in academia, artisanry, and magic. He’s swiftly grown into one of the richest people in the city and holds political influence. The rapid developments haven’t gone unnoticed, and not all attention is positive.

Business is booming. Nox is in a healthy relationship. His academic accolades are adding up. And familial tears are in the mending process. But he can feel something big is coming to ruin everything. Nox’s friends and family call it paranoia, but he disagrees and his preparations don't feel swift enough.

They’re wrong. He’s right.

The Cabal knows of Knight Nox Ratra. They won’t rest until they have him.

Continue on Nox's journey from Novice to Archmage in Book 3 of this Arcane Academy LitRPG series from J Pal, bestselling author of The Houndsman and They Called Me Mad.

It features a unique magic system which involves cultivating a solar system in one's core, Detailed spell crafting and alchemy, Dungeon diving, arcane archery, a magic university setting and so much more.

Great story, but poorly depicted human relations

The story and progression of the MC are well done, but I'm a bit turned off by the way characters interact with each other. There's little humor or happiness depicted and characters tend to react with unnecessary belligerence towards friends. There are also conversations that real people would never have, such as the one between the MC and Joey about how they really weren't friends. That was painful to listen to. In general the author needs to learn how real people talk; we don't use words like "perish", for instance.

Interesting world, good plot, terrible characters

This is a weird one for me, I really like the world, magic system and the plot progression - but I think I'm done after this book... The authors choice to remove all the most interesting characters we got to know over the 2 books is absolutely baffling.

Lillan and Nox's relationship was the only real interaction outaide his family conflicts that had any real weight. Can't understand the thought process that led to not including her in this book.

Aria is about as 1 dimensional as it gets and their "love" is fully a plot device. The relationship with Annabelle wasn't great but it at least felt a bit earned with all they went through. Painful to listen to something this shallow

Michelle and Earnest were interesting characters with a compelling backstory that mirrored Nox and Lillan. What do we get? Kill Earnest off screen and Michelle just leaves...

Then after his mentor dies (another solid character), her old friend shows up and offers to recruit him in the most blatant 'this character is evil' set-up you can imagine.

Overall IMO, this was a huge step down in writing for the 3rd installment, such a shame, but I've lost most of my interest in the story's future.
