I would recommend it although this is not a fantastic book. Susan Mallery stories, specially if narrated by Therese Plummer are like eating a delicious chocolate. You always enjoy it even if it's not good for you.

Would you be willing to try another book from Susan Mallery? Why or why not?

Yes, I would except the Fools Gold series which has a terrible narrator.

Which character – as performed by Therese Plummer – was your favorite?

Therese Plummer is the best narrator ever. My favorite character on this book was Penny. She was broken hearted from her divorced but she bounced back stronger, whiling to be a single working mom. She was excellent in her job and not a wimp. She stood up to the evil witch of a grandmother Cal has.

The story is based around a divorced couple who rediscovers each other while trying to save a failing restaurant in Seattle. I've listened to all the books in this series. This one was my least favorite of all but you should listen to it to get the background info that will make you enjoy the other books more.

Loved It

I am just getting ready to start the 3rd book in the series as I feel like I am part of the family and loved the characters. A nice romance with humor and of course the hidden twist that keep things interesting

Nice read - this is the first I have read of this series.. definitely will read the others. Highly recommend.

LOVE THIS STORY LINE/FAMILY

I HAVE REALLY GOTTEN ATTACHED TO THIS FAMILY. THEY ARE FUNNY HAVE NORMAL PROBLEMS AND I SWEAR GLORIA IS RELATED TO MY GRANDMOTHER. IS A FAST EASY LISTEN IS WORTH EVERY MINUTE AND DIME.

I enjoyed it

I felt it was a little too dramatic and definitely not great literature, but I did listen until the end and it helped to pass the time while I was doing chores.

Entertaining

This is an entertaininng listen. Nothing deep or exciting. Just ok. Terese Plummer's narration added to the book.

Good, but not the best.

I've waited several months for Audible to release this title unabridged and was very excited to see "Delicious" in the list of Susan Mallory's books. I had thoroughly enjoyed her other two books in this series (almost listened to an entire book in one setting!) but while listening to "Delicious," I found myself a little disappointed in the female lead, Penny. Her strengths and insecurities were very believable. However, I found her reactions to the story's romantic obstacles too stereotyped and therefore very frustrating. In fact, I oftentimes found myself relating much more to the male character, Cal.
I give this story three stars for being an otherwise great listen. Also, since this story is chronologically the first in the series, it is a "must read" to fully enjoy and appreciate the next two books. Be ready to sit back and enjoy; Susan Mallory is a real treat!
