Acerca de esta escucha

On a freezing winter night, the body of a teenager is found in the snow.

Mike and Callie Simpkins moved north to restart their lives and get their finances back on track. Their son Braxton immerses himself in an online game-world of crime and gangs. When he decides to meet some of the players in the real world, tragedy strikes …

Detective John Swift must untangle a web of virtual and real crimes in order to solve this complex mystery. And as the family copes with unimaginable grief, even Braxton’s stepfather, Mike, comes under suspicion.

Set in upstate New York, the author brings the area to life with compelling detail and realistic descriptions of family life and police work. The North Country series can be listened to in any order and is perfect for fans of Jeffery Deaver, Linwood Barclay, Lisa Unger, James Patterson, Ian Rankin, and Michael Connelly.

5 STARS for The Dark Web

I really like T. J. Brearton. I’ve been waiting for the release of this series. I had thought it might be good based on the description and purchased the three books in the North Country series so far. I am pleased to say this book has lived up to my expectations.
When a 13 year old boy (Braxton Simpkins) becomes involved with other boys on the dark web, he and them decides to meet up. Later that same evening Braxton is found dead on a nearby road. Needless to say his parents were very distraught. They had recently moved to Upstate NY in an attempt to make a recovery of their floundering financial state. Moving to a location he did not want makes Mike (husband) already feel like a failure.
The detective John Swift is hard on the case. He’s determined to solve the case. Not only for the parents but for a 13 year old who didn’t deserve to be murdered.
This is an excellent procedural that moves along at a good pace. No one is free from suspicion and there are a few red herrings. I was pretty clueless to who, what and why.
Liam DiCosimo does an outstanding job narrating.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Decent story

Decent story but the narrator was so monotone and boring. His fake Clint Eastwood voice for one character was irritating. He
