Perfect sequel, hopeful for more

Myself being born in the early 80s growing up near Orlando, I have found this series a refreshing take on my home state and its inhabitants. Thank you for not perpetuating the Florida Man trope! There are definitely a few references that may fly over the heads (by telekinesis, perhaps?) of non-Floridians. Burrito Bros?!?

The story is paced well with a good mix of humor and suspense. I found the character development (especially Gretch) to be authentic and not forced. Narration was on point.


I cannot wait until the next book!

2nd listen just as good!

I just finished my second listen of this book and the second time around was just as great as the first. Gretch is that hilarious, candid underdog that we all root for! highly recommended, laughing out loud, whodunnit murder mystery!

Better and better

Been a while since I listened to the first one but I think this one is better. Nice twisty plot. Nothing new at the end but a unique way to get there. Like Gretchen more and more. Looking forward to more. Books are better than the description.

Quite hilarious

The story is quite funny, and the narrator was perfect for this story. She did an awesome job becoming the character. The author did a great job writing humor into this story. To me, it is an easier listen if you can listen for longer periods of time and would be great on a long trip.

Great Second Book

One of my new favorite series, from one of my new favorite authors. Please don't leave us hanging!

Well written but too relevant

Great story, great writing, just a little to close to what is going on in the world right now. Not the escapism I was looking for.

More Gretch & OP World!

I want more. I need more. More Gretch & the OP. More chapters. More hours (please make these longer). I'll take more Andrea Vernon as well while you're at it! I love it all! Thank you for all the joy these bring!

2. I reserve the right to come back and give the story 3 stars if the third book takes more than a year. No me gusta the after credits scene cliffhanger type ending.

More Gretch and Frank please

Kudos to Alexander Kane for coming up with such a out of the box idea and cast of characters! This is book two of the Orlando people and it revisits Gretch Wolgast and the gang few years later. If you haven’t listened to the first one I strongly recommend you getting it! Kristen Sieh’s narration is fantastic. I adore her Gretch voice!! Never change her! I will not listen to anyone else if you do :) seriously NEVER. Also I’m ready for the next book. Please and thank you.
Oh about the book, some kids developed powers back in the 80’s. No one is sure why they have these powers. Since they are first and foremost normal people just trying to live life. They have regular everyday issues drugs, relationships, employment and religious cults that think their powers are from the devil and they should all die. Pretty typical stuff.

Love this series! So much fun!

Alexander Kane writes hilarious books. Gretch is a great main character and the Florida setting is perfect. I love the idea of random Floridians with telekinetic powers. I was really glad that the dead pan NYC-loving Praeter was back. If I were to make a complaint, it would be that the villains are always cartoonishly evil but given that this is a comedic action series, I think it works. (Plus, let's be real, cartoonishly evil people are becoming less rare in the U.S. these days.). The final thing I will say is that the reveals about Praeter's love life in this book were great and the way he defended himself from criticism had me laughing for days. I also loved that he had full support from Gretch and her dad. (Love Gretch's Dad and definitely want more of him. Their relationship is so sweet and yet also feels real.)
