Acerca de esta escucha

Justin Pitre was born and raised on his grandfather's Louisiana bayou, and he has made a promise to keep his family's prized 500-acre property safe. But across town, Big-Tex oil bigwig Tom Huff and his company have major plans to cash in on the resources that lie below the bayou.©2007 Ken Wells (P)2007 Blackstone Audio, Inc. Reseñas de la Crítica

"Wells is a native of southern Louisiana, and his love of Cajun culture and its patois, food and ties to the landscape shines throughout." ( Publishers Weekly)

This was a bit of a happy surprise for me; I bought the book because I needed to use up a credit before I lost it, and I generally enjoy Dick Hill's narration.

The story itself is a bit thin, as is character development, but the book as a whole just...works.

I liked all of the characters, even the evil ones, and enjoyed the setting and the story a great deal.

I've listened to the book three times since I bought it last year, and that's kind of my litmus test for 4 or more stars; the more times I listen to it, the more stars it gets.

Very enjoyable listen

Would you listen to Crawfish Mountain again? Why?

Probably.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved being given, even if by fiction, the history of the southern Louisiana people, bayous and the intrusion of oil companies into that territory and the effect they have had on the environment and the way the people of that area have had to adjust and change their way of subsistence.

What about Dick Hill’s performance did you like?

This is my first Ken Wells "listen". I thought he had an excellent way of presenting facts and wrapping a fictional story around them.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Nothing
