Better than last book

Hollie’s voice was more appropriate for this character. Mason does a great job. The storyline was interesting and exciting; and the characters were likable and funny. On to the next book!

Narrator accent?

I feel like I’m losing my mind because I don’t see any other reviews that mention this…but randomly at chapter 48 the male narrator switches from the semi-normal alien accent that he uses in all the other books to a super annoying Italian accent…or Greek? I don’t know but he started pronouncing words very weird with an over-the top European sounding accent. I even went back to previous chapters to make sure my ears weren’t just deceiving me but no, it definitely changes randomly at chapter 48 or 49 and it was so distracting for me. Otherwise the book was good. Follows the same general formula as the other books in the series. Overall good but maybe skip the audio version of this one.

Love Ruby and this series but…..

While I love the series, especially how greatly diverse all the characters are,but I struggled with the heroine in this book. While, the back story surely gives more than enough reason for her many…many issues; there are choices people can make to choose not to blanket their many, many fears into annoying near cowardice and blatant prejudices against “Aliens” that makes me wince. Also, her near constant complaints, bitchiness to people that have been nothing but kind to her is cringe worthy.

I suppose it’s a surprisingly accurate portrayal of humanity. However, i don’t care for her, and wouldn’t want to be her friend.

I need more !!

Kaspar actually seems like the dumb brother even though his reckless actions completely make sense. Paired with the cautious Alice is a wonderful pairing

If you like your aliens…

All of Dixon’s books are for you! I love this world and how all of the different series intertwine. These series are great for light listening. This book was entertaining and worth the second (or third?) listen. Every year it find it way into my listening…all of the books do, from one source or another. If I don’t have something lined up, I will put on whatever book from this world that I haven’t listened to in a while is available.

Corsairs: Kaspar by Ruby Dixon (book 2 of Corsairs Brothers)

I love how Ruby (the author) has tied this story into some of her other books when it talks about the gladiator called “ Crulden the Ruiner” and the gladiator farm. This is a romance story about Kaspar (male non-human alien) and Alice (a human female slave) who wind up trying to survive together on a rain forest planet filled with danger. Very sweet story. I would recommend reading these books in the order of the series.

Good Book/Narrator Nightmare

Really like this series and this story is a great addition to the collection. Love the characters and the plot BUT…there are serious issues with the male narrator. Around Chapter 47 the narrator adds an accent (Eastern European) that is very distracting! Like…it changed the character completely and I have no idea how this wasn’t caught. It didn’t ruin the book but it did take away from the listen.

Jungle Love

“If Kas thinks he’s getting out of my sight again, he’s about to meet the world’s first human barnacle.”

Between the longer book lengths in this series and the setting for this one being in the jungle, I was a little worried things would drag. However, even though Kaspar and Alice are alone together for most of their jungle adventure, there’s plenty of fun and frisky to be had.

Alice: What am I supposed to do now?
Kaspar: Just ditch it, I guess
Alice: Ditch what.
Kaspar: Your tunic? I ditched mine.
Alice: You don’t have breasts
Kaspar: What are these bad boys?
Alice: Two pancakes that don’t flap in the breeze, bad boy!

Yep, with Ruby Dixon’s books, it’s all about the banter.
I tend to go for the ones that have the most humor and action.

If all you want is fated mates with honorable hunky aliens, stick with her Ice Planet Barbarian series.
If you want cleaner environments, less book length, and more nooky, go for her Risdaverse series.
But, if you want some plot and action to go with the romance and the fun, this series is Goldilocks!

Refreshing, Scorching, Beautiful

LOVED this audible, narration was perfect, story was refreshing and imagery was on point. LOL funny in spots and others leave you thirsty. WELL WORTH THE CREDIT!
