Excerpt: After a couple of minutes had passed, and the truck had not gone by, I glanced in my mirror again. What I saw made me gasp. The semi was traveling no more than a few inches off the bumper of my tiny sub-compact car. We were going uphill, and there was no way I could step on the gas and get away from him. I thought about flashing my brake lights to make him back off, but the truth was that I was terrified at the thought of putting my foot anywhere near the brake pedal. All I could do was keep moving forward at the same steady speed, praying that the truck would go around me. The lane to the left of me was clear.
