- Her case made it on the front page, a child super predator, and the youth authority guards took it on themselves to bring her pain, ripping the braids from her scalp, spitting in her food.
Adult prison turned out no better, sentenced to the SHU, solitary confinement.
Five interviews of varying lengths told over the prison phone line to the East Oakland Times, Tio MacDonald, publisher of the My Crime Series (original inmate biographies), the Learning Curve by Death Row Inmate Johnny Miles, and The Devil's Backyard by Death Row Inmate Ward Weaver, Jr.
- Seraphim Jade condemns the prison system. She does so with rationally, confidently, and from experience.
There is the doctor walked out of prison for purposely over-medicating the female incarcerated. And the Warden retired for embezzling public dollars. Her Associate Warden arrested for lewd acts with a minor. Prison guards play cards while inmates murder.
- For the corruption prison generates in staff's character, Chronicles of a Female Prisoner condemns the penitentiary. Even more so, for the violence staff enacts on the incarcerated, Seraphim Jade condemns prison.
Despite all the violence, the corruption, and the coldness described and explained, the purpose of Chronicles of a Female Prisoner is to urge listeners to action and change the system. Chronicles of a Female Prisoner does not stay in the grime and the muck of prison life but urges free citizens to exercise their rights and obligations to make the system more reflective of contemporary values, emphasizing care, concern, and compassion. Chronicles of a Female Prisoner shouts to tear the prison system down through community strength and intelligent political actions.
