THE STORY

Commissar Ciaphas Cain and the Valhallan 597th are in the thick of it again, putting down an uprising of Chaos cultists on an Imperial mining world. The munitions Ironfound produces are vital to the Imperial war effort in the subsector; its safety must be assured at all costs. As battle explodes across the planet, Ciaphas Cain and his regiment come up against allies and enemies old and new in their fight for victory against the forces of Chaos.

Great audiobook series, I highly recommend to any and all who love great sci-fi stories.

Bit scatterbrained but fun.

It is very much a Cain audiobook. Sulla ofcourse makes her appearance. Honestly it's a bit scatterbrained and all over but very much enjoyable. Good writing, quality audio.

I love Chaos!

The diologue between Ciaphas and both Inquisitors is on point as always, and I rhough I understand the grim dark setting I like seeing aspects of diplomacy between the species. saving the soulstones was a good move.

Not my favorite Cain

This one was just disappointing and not worth my time/money. I love Ciaphas Cain, but this was just not it.

Great Cain novel as usual!

The voice actors are amazing, good pacing, and great story as usual. Can’t wait for next one!

It's What You'd Expect

Chances are this isn't your first Ciaphas Cain novel and so you should know what to expect. it's the typical formula of Cain dealing with problem A, his palms itch, and low and behold there is a worse problem B. This isn't a bad thing, of course, as all of the Cain books are entertaining. just don't expect any sort of deviation from what has worked so well in the past.

Outstanding

Absolutely wonderful story. Packed with action and intrigue featuring the most realistic and Luke able character in the 40K universe.

odd glitch

love to story but at the beginning of each chapter I get "apter 2 or ter 10" and same with the editorial notes Amberleys voice actor says "torail notes"

Good!

Good characters and a super likable reluctant hero make this a good buy. The voice actors are excellent as usual for this series as well. Recommend!
