Acerca de esta escucha

Stone Barrington is back in the extraordinary new adventure from New York Times best-selling author Stuart Woods.

Stone Barrington seems to have a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When Manhattan’s elite are beset by a series of clever crimes - and Stone is a material witness - he and his former partner Dino Bacchetti find themselves drawn into the world of high-end security and fraud, where insider knowledge and access are limited to a privileged few, and the wealthy are made vulnerable by the very systems meant to keep them safe. As Stone and Dino delve deeper into their investigation, they learn that the mastermind behind the incidents may have some intimate ties to Stone...and that the biggest heist is still to come.

good but not the best of the series that we've listened to so far. Good that nobody died in this one

What made the experience of listening to Carnal Curiosity the most enjoyable?

Because I listen to Audible while driving, I need books that are easy to keep track of. This one was entertaining and tied some with the series.

What does Tony Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like that he reads all the Stone novels.

Another Great Stone Barrington Saga....

This is my first Stone Barrington in a while. I don’t think this will win any literary awards but it was fun and definitely made the long commute more enjoyable. I plan on continuing to listen to Stuart Woods.

Lots of fun!

As always, Stone gets laid up front and the woman turns out bad. Sorta! Then, another comes along and she appears permanent, at least for awhile. Dino and Stone solve a robbery problem in NYC. Dino is Chief of Detectives in this book; while I believe that role is largely administrative, Dino takes an active operational place. Will and Kate Lee also interact, but it's an aside to this plot; likely this book is used to set up some future action. A couple of plots come to a head in the last few minute so the listen. Tony Roberts did a great job in the narration.

This Review Needs A Title...So, I Gave it One

stuart leaned way too far to the left for me to be interested in his books anymore. I read all of the series up to this point years ago and was excited to pick up where I left off... pretty disappointed with how political he became and from what I see from reviews of future books in the series it only gets worse...

the last tolerable barrington series book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. The later (current) Stone Barrington Books are not too deep. A decent, albeit always unbelievable plot, leads to a quick and satisfying conclusion.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Carnal Curiosity?

My memory of this book, is actually my only negative comment. Tony Roberts' choice of the voice for the Detective "Dino" - sounds like a drunk Jackie Gleason. The voice does not match my imagining of the character.

What does Tony Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Roberts, with one exception, brings good, and mostly slight, vocal intonations to each character...so that (except for the character of "Dino") no one sounds too much like a cartoon.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A lawyer, his loves, and trouble.

Good and Typical (as of late) Stone Barrington Sto
