Acerca de esta escucha

I've been trapped in the darkness of berserker rage for eons, with nothing and no one strong enough to drag me back into the light—until her.

When a monstrous alien smashes into the deserted planet we're studying, it's with the raging force of a natural disaster. I'm not sure if he's a dragon, a god, or a man. He's massive and terrible, with scales like emeralds, glowing wings, and only one maddened eye left. In the rush to retreat from this berserk behemoth, my fellow humans leave me behind. But he doesn't.

His burning eye lands on me, and it's like I'm the only thing left in the universe. When he comes for me, his body heaving with violence, I know that he will kill me. Except...

Except when his scales touch my skin, something happens to him. Maybe happens to both of us. He calms, and through the fading fury of his gaze, I see someone who isn't quite as monstrous as I thought.

Then he brings me to another planet entirely. Abducting me and forever separating me from the only human friends I have left. He takes me like I'm something that belongs to him.

It doesn't matter that his touch grows softer every passing day, or that he's as focused on protecting me as he is possessing me.

It doesn't matter that he sometimes looks as lost in this new world as I feel, like he's trying to remember who he used to be. Or who he's supposed to become.

It doesn't matter that sometimes I want to reach for him as much as I want to run.

Skallagrim has made it clear that he will never grant me freedom. In return, I will never grant forgiveness.

Even if it hurts...

And hurts us both.

Berserker God is an epic sci-fi romantasy with fated mates, feisty human heroines, and immortal alien gods who will stop at nothing to possess them. It is the second book in the Brides of the Stone Sky Gods series but can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Skalla and Suvi

Skalla and Suvi is the second book in the sky god series. It’s the story of a sky god who is already in a “mate mad” state. When he finally see’s light in the endless darkness, it’s his true mate Suvi, though he has no idea who she is.

I really love the worlds Dax creates and I’ve devoured all audiobooks available by her so far. I need more!! So good!

Original alien romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: ☹️😮😋🥰
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Suvi - she was a human botanist who was forced into service on another planet. Her and the team she was working with had to move to yet another new planet after the sky had turned to stone and a massive dragon-like creature had broken through the stone sky. They had to implement procedures that if that happened, an alarm would sound, and they had to get to the ship before it took off or they would be left behind. At the last planet, one of her friends was left behind.

The Hero: Skallagrim - He is a stone, sky god who kept putting off looking for his mate, always thinking there would be plenty of time. However, time ran out for him, and he went into mate madness, sending him into a berserker rage. His memories drifted away, his mind went into a blackness, and he spent a long time just traversing the galaxy without knowing or seeing anything in the blackness until he ended up on a desert planet and saw a light shining through the darkness.

The Story: when the ship alarm sounded while Suvi and her teammates were in the caves on the latest planet they landed on, they all ran for the ship. Suvi fell behind when the sky turned to stone and the powerful being broke through and fell to the ground between her and the ship. Skallagrim grabbed the little human who was a light in his darkness and allowed him to start thinking again. He created a portal to another world and took her with him, determined to not let her go.

One thing I don’t like in these alien romances is when the characters go too long without being able to understand each other. I like when the humans get translators early on in the books. It didn’t really fit into this story for her to have a translator, but I wished she would have one anyway. She eventually got a translator; it just took a while. Other than that, the story was great. I liked the characters and the originality of the stone sky god storyline.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Patrick Zeller and Angelina Rocca. I like both of these narrators quite a bit. Angelina has a nice voice that is soft and feminine, and very pleasant. Patrick Zeller has a deep voice, and his narration style is very dramatic, but that fits with the alien character, so I like it quite a bit.

Loving this series already

This book is just as good as the first one, but definitely more contained to just the couple since Skalla has no memory and communication between them is a struggle for a bit. It isn't until the last quarter of the book does the outside universe play any major part.

I'm excited to have another Stone Sky God make an appearance. My guess is the next book will focus back on the council and general universe building.

I love the narrators, but do wish they both had a bit more range to do accents. However, I will absolutely take straight American English accents over poorly done foreign ones. Thankfully both narrators kept it simple like that and it made it easy to listen to. Immersion was never broken and I truly appreciated it. Highly recommend these books!

Zeller did not talk through out the storyline!! I enjoyed the time he did talk anyway.
