excellent historical alternate history

Very well researched and implemented alternate history. it implements its premise about as well as I have ever seen it done.

it was great. good performance and a fun story. I would have like to have read the American conquest of the uk.

Riviting

It was well thought out with great historical detail. one can disagree with the choices, bit I thoroughly enjoyed all three books.

Good end to the trilogy

As a fan of alternate history, this trilogy was one of my favorite to listen to. The story was portrayed wonderfully and I was excited to listen to it at any chance I could get.

Thoughtful and Dramatic Alt-History

Peter Tsouris wraps up satisfyingly (for a Yankee). The series is not for those seeking great psychological insights. But it includes enough drama and personality to be a novel and not an imaginary history textbook. The narrator delivered excellent voices--especially Lincoln-- and pacing.

Good ending

I feel better. Enjoyed as much as volume 2. one mention for all three I got used to but didn't enjoy, I wasn't fond of changes of subject from the middle of battles. Especially when the detailed back histories or descriptions seemed longer than the battle sequences. But like I said, I got used to it and have that time to allow me to enjoy the book and series overall.

It stands out

Would have made a better 4 book series but it’s very good. The entire concept of the series of books is wonderful.

The Union gets all the breaks

The descriptions of battles and equipment are excellent. However, the Union suddenly puts all the right people in leadership, develops all the right equipment and foils every enemy plot and stratagem of its enemies. It seems like a “what if everything went well for the Union” story rather than a plausible playing out of what would have happened. Not saying that the Union wouldn’t have won eventually but it had the feel of “too good to be true”.

Disappointing ending

After 3 books in the series the author nailed out on the ending. I also did not like what the author did to Americas allie.
