Good but short

This book felt super short it was good but it felt like their was little story progression after the first 10 or twenty chapters.

I absolutely love all of this story line , seems like it ended a bit to abruptly. Can’t wait for more

Too short and lacked character development

I have loved all the Litrpg that Eric writes. I was really looking forward to Clyde grinding levels or getting back to Galton or the city of Darkness at least. Fighting the nebulas “aw shit” in furtaxo was a let down. And it was only 5 hour long!
I still don’t feel like I know Rose at all.
Would love to see Clyde meet Montana

It was ok

Doesn’t really feel like anything happened. Just something that doesn’t really move any storyline forward or make me engaged. If you like the series it is fine just meh

this story felt too short

I love the story and I'm glad I spent a credit purchasing it.. But the resolution felt a bit too uh quick.. There's a lot of build-up and importance placed on solving the riddle of the town and yet it's resolved too quickly in the last few minutes. Obviously there is bound to be some conflict between Clive and one or more gods because of his resolution but but because of that it felt like the story was a couple of chapters too short.

really fun.

not sure why there are so many people giving this book bad reviews. Sure Eric could have made it longer, like puting this book and the next book into one, but I thought it was good and there were some places I literally laughed out loud. it's absolutely just as good as the rest of the books in this series. I can see that the story doesn't progress TONS but it's a fun adventure even still.

spells

I love this book and the writing styles my only problem is the same problem I had in the past couple of books where Clyde has so many spells and doesn't use but a fraction of it I really wish he would get a moment to just expand on his usage of spells so many of them are so useful.

This author is great at hitting the TTRPG vibe with gumption!

I tend not to write review but I want to say thank for the series of the addictive adventures both in the Good guy's series and this one. I feel delighted in the way you built the character complex and multifaceted. Again thanks!

Clyde Hatchet(t)...the moron!

I love the story but I'm wondering was Clyde purposely written to be not so smart to a fault? He's starting to remind me of the main characters from Divergent and Hunger Games in that their actions are usually selfish and get more likeable characters killed. He's gonna need some major redeeming qualities to make up for Mornax's death. I'm too invested to just stop listening but I'm almost hoping they axe the Hatchet(t) for another main character! "Regales of the Rose" might be better than Careless Clyde.

A Fantastic Series

At the end of the last book, Clyde Hatchett finally rid himself of the Corpse King threatening to take over his body, but the story ended on a cliff hanger where something obviously unexpected happened to Clyde. This book reveals what that “something” was. The god known as Mr. Paul from The Good Guys series has intervened in Clyde’s resurrection and informed him that he has basically disrupted the whole gaming system with his magic draining spell and Mr. Paul has to sort things out again. He doesn’t just take the spell; he resets Clyde to level one. Basically, Clyde is royally screwed over, but in the haggling that goes with all interactions with Mr. Paul, Clyde gets to keep a lot of his “non-game breaking” spells. So, he is a very robust level one, but still just level one.

I’ll be blunt. This really annoyed me. I was looking forward to seeing what happened when all of that massive experience Clyde has been earning for the last several books suddenly infused him without the draining spell frittering it away. I was figuring Clyde was about to jump six or ten or more levels. But…Ugland’s vision produces a really great story that forces Clyde to continue to do what he does best—think of creative solutions to his problems.

Add to that a few changes in the cast around Clyde and you have all the ingredients of a great ongoing story. First, Clyde has to pick a new god and he picks a really weak goddess that has no heroes in the game just to annoy Mr. Paul. She is going to add a lot to future stories. He also solidifies his friendship with the Mad God which adds another happy dimension. Finally, he gets one awesomely powerful ally added to the party.

The problem in this book is a fascinating one and truly worthy of Clyde’s unique mindset. Can’t wait to get to the next book.
