Acerca de esta escucha
I’ve been told that when you meet ‘the one’ it’s an instant thing. You just know right off that it’s right. I’ve never experienced anything like that, but I guess that’s how it was for Sunny and Cali. Apparently Sunny’s sister, Windy, had a similar experience with her new husband, Robert.
Maybe someday someone will walk into my life and I’ll know that she’s ‘the one’ right off, too. I’m not getting my hopes up, but I guess it could happen. I’m not going out looking, I’m sorta burnt out on the whole idea of dating right now. I need a break from women.
Why, you ask? Well that would be Sandy’s fault. She was my last girlfriend. We were together for two years. I was planning to propose to her soon. I was shopping around for rings, literally at the jewelry store, when I got a text from her. That’s right, a text. She broke up with me in a text while I was shopping for her engagement ring.
On to my family, my father was a soldier and died when I was a baby. He never got to meet me. Mom raised me alone, and managed to do a really great job I might add. She’s the strongest woman I’ve ever met. Not physically strong, I’m talking about the more important inner strength. I really love my mom, she’s awesome.
So that’s me, I’m a mess but I’m getting by. I have a great mom, a great best friend, and a good business. My heart is shredded, but life is good otherwise. My heart will heal eventually. And just maybe, when it finally does, I might have ‘the one’ show up and steal it from my chest. We’ll have to see about that.
I might take my mom’s determinedly single stance and run with it otherwise. That sounds like a much safer route to take, maybe that’s why mom chose it. Lonely is better than broken. I’m definitely seeing the advantages of staying single for life. My friend, Chad, claims to have chosen that path too. Maybe there is something to it…
