I love the world building of thr series. also i love how in depth and and detailed it is.

I loved the anime of this series and I am super excited to be able to read this series there is so much detail in the book compared to the anime I cant wait foe more of this series

So long Between Releases

I fell in love with the anime when it released and it already feels like we've been too long without a next season. So my question is why take so long between releases of the light novel's audiobook adaptation, 9 months is a really long time for a book series that already contains 30+ volumes in Japanese.

Wonderful World-Building enhanced by Voice Actor

The second book builds on what takes place in the first. Myne has moved on from making failed forms of paper to trying to make plant paper, but makes others suspicious in the process. I like that she isn’t an over-powered character but faces push backs from this new world she is in. It makes the other characters intelligent and observant and world more interesting and authentic.

Moreover, as the author, Miya Kazuki, skillfully builds this unique and intricate fantasy world, she doesn’t lose the balance between developing the plot and characters with creating the complex setting. Rather it compliments and engagingly grows the other.

However, an audiobook needs a great narrator to put what is amazing in print into audio form. Reba Buhr, a real, human voice actress truly enhances the story-telling. As the main character meets new characters in different age, social , or economic groups, the skill Reba Buhr displays is evident. For instance, in conversations, she convincingly plays both a scruff, young boy and a sophisticated, educated man in his thirties. Also, the emotional scenes felt more distressing through her skills. She really upped my standards in what I look for in a narrator.

The only complaint I have is that in some parts, the character I expected to speak wasn’t the one I heard. I get that it didn’t list the character speaking in the book and the voice director probably didn’t double check with the translator, but it was just a tad jarring that a character that spoke in the anime wasn’t the same one delivering the line in the audiobook. It was still very enjoyable and likely won’t be noticed if one doesn’t reread this series like I do.

I look forward to the installment in this series and thank everyone who contributed. Hope to see Part 1 Volume 3 soon.

Book 3 When?

I cannot recommend this series enough, both for those who have and haven't watched the animated series. I am so invested in Mine's story I cannot wait for the next volume, even though I know what will happen from watching the anime. The writing just pulls you in that well. Can't wait for the third audiobook in this series. <3
