Relationship building.

Confusing the pronoun/name of the baby. It was a girl at birth … then the pronouns changed to he…. Then he . Then a name change. Then multi he/she flip flops. More of an editorial issue but slightly off putting. Confusing but overall an enjoyable read.

bad narrator

I may or may not go back to this book. before the story even starts they tell you it's an AI voice narrator. it really does affect the the story. there's no personality in the voice or a change in voice for characters. it was hard to listen to.
