Quick Listen

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was a quick listen. The story seemed simple at times and the narrator mispronounced several of the words. Overall it was a nice story. Some parts of it were a bit confusing such as the escort to her room at the top of the castle. But it was quick and passed the time.

Fantasy combined with Reverse Harem

I love both fantasy and reverse harem so It's great to find a book that combines both. The story has potential but I felt like it would benefit from some more development and possible should have been a bit longer. Overall enjoyable but not a book I'll listen to again.

The narrator was interesting, decent character voices and an active style for the overall delivery.

Short but good

I like how the dragons played with her mentally but knew they all wanted her.
It was unclear how she would react knowing her brother was with their sister and things went bad but in the end it seems to turn out okay. Would love to hear more of this story. #AudioBookObsession

Unique

This felt like a wizarding medieval story. It had some magic but not a lot. Unfortunately for me, no steamy scenes. The dragon shifters were cute but I just didn't fall for the heroine. It was a unique short story which is always welcome. The narrator did a good British accent and provided passion for the characters.

Fantasy Meets Reverse Harem

If you’ve ever been curious about reverse harem and you’re into fantasy books have I got the perfect listen for you. I think this is a really good introduction into reverse harem listens. Nothing too over the top you can test the waters without diving in the deep end.

The narration is good I just had a hard time getting into the female perspective with a male voice.

I'm still confused at what I just listened to...

This story was sadly just a bit of a wreck in my opinion. It felt very disjointed and hard to understand at times. I think I figured it out by the end but it was rough getting to that point.

Gareth was okay as a narrator. I don't think his narration style is really my cup of tea. It just made the story all the harder to get through for me.

Quite the adventure!

The story definitely had potential.. I do wish it was a tad longer. I didn't mind the narrator at all, he had me giggling at times with his different voices and the effects he added.

Even great narration couldn't save this story.....

I know that there is only so much development that can happen in a two hour novella. However, this story had little to no world building, a confusing, boring plot, and no romance. The beginning of the book introduced the heroine (Christine) and the supposed premise of the story. The author did well engaging my interest up to that point. Unfortunately, past that 15-20 minute introduction, the story degenerated into Christine meeting six guys with whom she spent the next hour of the book trading immature, juvenile insults. Then, the author had ten minutes of the actual plot of the book, and Christine suddenly sees herself falling in love with all of the men. I'm a fan of fated mate romances, but I need more character development to buy into the happy-ever-after.

The one bright spot to this production was the narrator. Gareth Richards has a strong British accent, but I never had any difficulty following his narration. In fact, his melodic voice with that accent was the only thing that lent an air of paranormal/fantasy to this story. He did an excellent job of handling both the female and male parts of the story, and I would definitely listen to another audio book narrated by Richards.

Pluses and minuses

This short listen had some good world building and a strong female lead. The details were lacking in areas and the sizzle level was low. Fun but not deep.
