Hygeia, an outer rim colony, is doomed as the moon on which it was built hurtles toward an inevitable collision with the dead planet Hephaestus. When a distress signal arrives from a Weyland-Yutani biowarfare outpost near the colony, a desperate plan is launched to evacuate the trapped scientists and colonists. Once there, the evacuees, including a contingent of Colonial Marines, discover a plot that could plunge the colonies into all-out war. Their only hope may be an alliance with the deadliest ally imaginable.

Thoroughly enjoyed.

Hit the ground running. Enjoyed the tie-in to the Alien RPG lore. Some small but enticing twists and turns building on the Alien universe 8 years after the Haleys Hope 'incident'.

Great start…epic fail

What n the whole wide world? I listened to an Aliens book. They escaped, they won. Then suddenly part 2 of the book started. They forgot they’d just escaped from Aliens. They forgot about the black goo. They forgot they had an untrustworthy piece of trash scientist with them that on multiple occasions should have been at best put into hyper sleep or at worst shot. They got a transmission about an infestation and landed anyways….lightyears from where they were going but suddenly it was exactly where they were going. No one stops them from landing, no one is around when they exit the ship, they start finding dead bodies but don’t immediately get back in the ship and leave?? They should all DIE! They ALL deserve death…except the little girl…but she unfortunately has to suffer due to the absolute stupidity of the adults she’s with. 75% of the book was good. The last 25% was so bad, I stop listening with an hour left.

Needs to be a movie!

awesome in depth and engaging storyline. A must listen to book! Looking forward to more like this.

Engaging from start to finish

I really liked the length and story of this one. I consume every Alien bit of media and a lot of these books have been a drag to finish, with agenda first, story second approaches. Taking up 12-16 hours of listening time with lots of filler and ineffective character building monologues.
This book had a tight story with stakes and characters I cared about surviving. The narrator also did a wonderful job of not being distracting or over the top, a few of these books have suffered from that lately. Overall, not an Alien Phallax or Cold Forge, but worthwhile and enjoyable. B+

Better than past entries

While the narrator leaves a lot to be desired the story here got a lot better.
There wasnt this focus on political messaging but rather semblance of an actual story….I know crazy.

More Alien Lore to enjoy!

I absolutely love all of these novels in the Xenomorph universe! My only complaint is having listened to almost all of them and wanting more! This was a great story to add to all the existing Xenomorph lore and I definitely recommend if you are a fan of Alien or Sci-fi Horror in general.

A solid Aliens story

This story had all of the classic Alien tropes - hard sci-fi, body horror, corporate greed and a capable female protagonist in the form of Siobahn. Narration was good, Shiromi Arserio has a wonderful voice. A worthy addition to Alien lore.

pretty good.

plot holes in this. still pretty solid entry. the last two who die are the ones I wanted to die. did care for either of them. also don't like romance between a female scientist and soldier. it's not realistic at all. couple times in the book the scientist goes along. on parts she had bo business going on. it was simply done to further the romantic angle of the story. i was in the military. i would have never brought a civilian anything along that served no purpose to the mission. she was just in the way.
