What Kind of Sick F&%#...

What did you love best about Afraid?

So I told my girlfriend to recommend a book that would "shock me"; a book that would make me think "what kind of sick f&%# would come up with something so disturbing?!"

Well I didn't have that exact reaction from Afraid. One theory is because maybe I'm already some kind of sick f&%# myself. :) That's actually a pretty solid theory...

With that said, what I will say is that I discovered a really creative and gripping story. Yes, there is some serious gore, but the author only gives enough detail about those situations to allow your imagination to take it to the next sick level. He doesn't dwell on those details and that keeps the story moving at a great pace.

Scary Stuff

I agree with Barry from Vancouver 100%. This is an outrageously scary story and one of these days, I will work up the courage to listen to the whole thing! (I'm still checking that my doors and windows are locked, and peeking through the curtains!)
Dick Hill would have been a much better narrator. He can do "menacing" very well but I probably would have had a heart attack in the first chapter!

This is a KILLER Book, I cant wait for another by this authur !!!!!

GREAT BOOK

What made the experience of listening to Afraid the most enjoyable?

It kept me riveted. The story line is plausable when you hear bits and pieces of information the government has kept hidden for "national security"

Awesome read!!

This book is not for the faint of heart! Having said that, I loved it! It's very detailed and you get to know the characters well. The narrator used wonderful different bpices for each character and I found it very entertaining, both the story and the narration

I have loved every book that I've read by jack kilborn! I love how the characters find themselves in more than one book! Read afraid, trapped, and endurance before haunted house! You will not be disappointed!!

Rocket ride!

I rarely write reviews but this book deserves one. As an avid reader, I've learned to develop the necessary patience for getting through the first 3 or 4 chapters, of a new book, in order to become interested in the story. This book requires no such patience as it takes off like a rocket and accelerates until your left shaking and wanting more, by the time it's over.

Who's this book for? It's for everybody that enjoys action thrillers but I do need to point out that it's extremely violent. If you are turned off by blood, bullets and non-stop action, this book is not for you. Otherwise, put on your seatbelt and hold on for one hell of a ride!

Could not stop listen. A bit cliche yes, but with good twist and nice fast pace.

This was an amazing audiobook. If you love suspense with some gore this is your book. Phil Gigante is an amazing narrator. I wish he narrated every book imo.

avid listener

This story was not quite what I would call "really good". It was an interesting story and I wanted to finish it but I fast forward a lot of places. Some places there was too much commentary and other places I just had to fast forward to get it through that scene. Not quite sure if I would recommend it or not.
