This book explains US post-war history on a decade by decade basis, including excerpts from contemporary presidential speeches delivered during the decades being discussed to bring history to life. The book is targeted to high school aged teens and kids aged 10 and above. Topics covered include changes in social policy and US foreign policy over the period. Major events include the moon landings, the Cold War, the development of the atomic bomb, the 9/11 attacks, the reunification of Germany, Vietnam, the Iraq wars, the evolution of civil rights in America among other topics. This audiobook provides a clear overview of modern American history for a younger audience.
Note that the book does describe events such as 9/11 and other historical events such as war from an objective historical standpoint, which may be traumatic for younger children.
