A little wordy, but still enjoyable.
I wanted to listen to this book after it was mentioned in one of Jane Austin’s books.
As per-old-timey stories, it is a little wordy and often has periods of exposition. However, Ms. Radcliffe was capable of creating scenes with a tense and thrilling atmosphere that had me on the edge of my seat at times.
If you are looking for a story to drown out the silence while occasionally stimulating your imagination with scenes of dark abandoned corridors and thrilling chases, I’d say this book makes a good listen.

Fabulous performance!
A wonderful performance of an underrated classic of gothic literature. I would love for Larkin to record more books by Ann Radcliffe! Maybe The Italian next?? Highly recommended!
