Only when we are ready to face those difficult questions, can we come to terms with making decisions that require a sacrificial love, combined with a high personal price. When a single criminal event intrudes on the lives of Todd and his friends, another boy named Dan finds his life torn to pieces by the same lawless act. While these two never meet or communicate in any productive way, they must both make critical decisions without the benefit of knowing what the other is thinking or feeling. Challenged by racial bigotry and ignorance, the characters awaken to an understanding of love, friendship, self-respect, faith and finally courage. With everything hanging in the balance, forces beyond their control conspire to drive them both to face the personal moral questions they have avoided their entire lives, and as time runs out for Dan, will anyone step up to save him? This is a tale of loyalty and conformity contrasted against independence and tolerance. It’s about making choices that have life changing implications in the face of almost impossible social barriers. In the end, it’s about facing an ultimate reality of life, which is putting yourself at risk without having all the information, which is commonly referred to as a “leap of faith.” Discover their journey as they find the joy in pain and the hope in despair.
