Moving house is never easy. But for one English family, making the change from suburban London to rural Wales unearthed more than they’d bargained for. A Life Lived Behind Glass is a true account of a journey into the world of autism, its diagnosis, the discovery of a history of family members on the spectrum, and acceptance and understanding of the condition.
Marcie writes about her own struggle with autism, her childhood experiences, and the process of adult diagnosis. She describes the joy of home education and supporting her family’s unique needs. Her story is set against the dramatic and rugged backdrop of the Welsh countryside.
This memoir is the first in a series of three. The second, Cwtch was published in July and Italy Under Glass completed the trilogy in September 2021. Narrated by the author.
